Expedition Appalachia April 12-14 2024 *****SOLD OUT******

This expedition will take place in the beautiful state of West Virginia . This trip will take us to visit where coal mining began and how it affected the area and what unfortunately what it left behind . Bramwell West Virginia is located along the beautiful Bluestone river .

This expedition will take us through some beautiful areas , we will visit an abandoned and claimed to be haunted , We will tour an underground coal mine in a powered coal cart train . We will also get up close and personal with the ICONIC "bridge" towering over the New River !

Our camping will be festival style in private meadows and with a different location each evening . . Our final night will take us to stay on top of an old strip mine .

Difficulty level for the off-road sections will be a 5 with "bypasses" . lots of gravel roads and some tarmac in between .

There will no need to bring extra gasoline , plenty of gas stops along our route .

LOTS and LOTS of history in this part of West Virginia . Our guide that has agreed to volunteer his time , Jerry Bain probably knows this state better than anyone .

Overlander Project will host a social hour that will include various beverages and charcuterie boards

Thursday evening camping location - Camp Creek Campground -2390 Camp Creek Road in Camp Creek West Virginia , Exit 20 on I-77

This event starts at 7:30 pm Thursday evening - April 11th with a driver's meeting , Most attendees are camping Thursday evening , camping fees are included with your entry fee .

* Full size spare 

* camping gear (tent , bedding , pillows ,etc )

* all food and drinks 

* drinking water 

* full size rigs are welcomed
